Kara first learned how to knit as a child, but not until her early 20’s did she become passionate about knitting. Her career originally began in New York’s Garment Center, designing cut and sew accessories. Today, she spends her time as a busy mom, pattern designing, editing books and creating technical illustrations. You can see Kara's illustrations in several popular knitting books, with her latest work in Socks From the Toe Up, and coming October 2009: Lily Chin’s Knitting Tips & Tricks. As editor, Kara has produced the following books for DRG Publications: Tops & Toes: A Whimsical Collection to Delight Hat & Sock Knitters, and It’s In The Bag: Projects To Take & Make. The books feature her whimsical designs, along with several other talented designers. Kara is a graduate at Parsons School of Design, holding a BFA in Illustration. She lives in Treasure Island, Florida with her husband Jay and son London. For more about Kara’s knitting adventures, visit her blog: www.sheknitsintheloop.com
